Summary: This compliance code covers the provision of workplace amenities and facilities for the working environment in all workplaces other than construction workplaces. This compliance code replaces Code of Practice No. 3 (1988) Workplaces.
Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Act), people are able to meet their duties under the Act and regulations made under the Act by complying with the related part of an approved Compliance Code.
From 18 June 2017 the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 (old Regulations) is repealed and replaced by the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (new Regulations). Complying with a Compliance Code made in relation to the old Regulations may not necessarily mean compliance with a duty under the new Regulations.
This Compliance Code continues to be available as a source of practical guidance, and will contribute to industry state of knowledge, to assist those who must comply with health and safety laws.
