Forestry
Forestry and logging workers have a high rate of injuries and fatalities.
The new Victorian Industry Standard Safety in forest operations (harvesting and haulage) industry standard was recently launched by Graeme Johnstone, Victorian State Coroner. It provides practical advice and risk control measures to be taken by duty holders to prevent injury in harvesting and haulage forest operations.
The Standard Safety in forest operations (harvesting and haulage) industry standard will help you understand the risks of working in forestry plantations and native state forests and will explain what you need to do to make your workplace safe.
