Service Standards
WorkCover introduced minimum OR Service Standards from 15 October 2003. These standards were developed in conjunction with OR industry representatives (OR Standards Committee) following broad consultation with all approved OR providers, employer and union representative groups.
The OR Service Standards are mandatory in the context of the OR Provider Agreement and all approved OR providers are expected to incorporate the standards into their service delivery and organisational practices.
Purpose of the OR Service Standards
To promote OR provider service delivery and organisational practices focussed on assisting workers who have a capacity for work to remain at work or return to work after injury as soon as it is safely possible through the delivery of timely and effective services.
The standards will assist OR providers to self audit the quality of their service delivery, assess the appropriateness of potential staff to deliver OR services and resolve complaints regarding their service deliver.
The standards will assist agents to purchase OR services based on best OR performance and outcomes.
The standards will assist employers and workers in knowing what to expect from OR providers in relation to the quality of service delivery.
