The hospitality industry includes hotels, restaurants, pubs and clubs. These workplaces range from small family-run restaurants and bed and breakfast houses to large luxury hotels with casinos and banquet facilities.

The vast majority of people working in this industry are part-time and work late nights and weekends. Staff turnover is high, and safety training is often minimised in the rush to get staff ready to work.
