Worksafe Victoria and bullying

WorkSafe has trained advisory staff and inspectors to deal with allegations of bullying. Consistent with WorkSafe's approach to other reported hazards, the Advisory Service will first encourage the person alleging bullying to raise the matter in the workplace, either directly or with the assistance of their HSR.

In some cases, a WorkSafe inspector may attend the workplace to check if appropriate policies, procedures and training are in place to deal with bullying. An inspector will also ensure there is compliance with other duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (for further information on the role of WorkSafe inspectors see WorkSafe Victoria Inspectors).
