WorkSafe activities
While WorkSafe assists HaSPA focus on the OHS community, WorkSafe is also continuing to support Victorian workplaces. WorkSafe’s related projects include:
- developing a new WorkSafe Position on ‘Suitably qualified’ which will assist employers to retain appropriate OHS professionals
- developing new guidance for employers on ‘How to get OHS help’
- informing OHS service providers about this strategy:
- John Merritt, Executive Director of WorkSafe Victoria, was a keynote speaker at the Safety in Action Conference 2008 (click here to view the presentation)
- Forums for OHS professionals (click to view presentations from December 2007 and May 2008)
- surveying OHS service providers (survey results from December 2007 and May 2008)
- launching an e-Newsletter for OHS professionals that reports on the progress of the ‘Reposition the OHS Professional’ strategy (click here to subscribe to this newsletter). Click here to see the most recent edition of the newsletter.
- upgrading WorkSafe’s current OHS service directory with a new system that will link users to certified or professional members of OHS professional associations
