WorkSafe Position - Employing or engaging a suitably qualified person

WorkSafe Positions

WorkSafe Positions are intended to provide certainty to people who have duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. They state the way in which, in WorkSafe’s opinion, the Act or the regulations made under the Act apply.

What is this WorkSafe Position about?

The Act requires employers to employ or engage persons who are suitably qualified in relation to occupational health and safety to provide advice. This WorkSafe Position provides definition around what ‘suitably qualified’ means.
