A NES Vocational Counselling Report reviews the worker’s progress against the future actions agreed to in the NES Worker Independent Job Seeker Plan. The focus remains return to work the types of prioritised suitable employment options identified for the worker in the NES Worker Independent Job Seeker Plan.
A Rehabilitation Consultant may recommend further vocational counselling as part of the NES Vocational Counselling Report with any outstanding or new actions being agreed between the Rehabilitation Consultant and the worker. If the prioritised suitable employment goals have changed after the NES Worker Independent Job Seeker Plan was submitted then the activities for the next 8 weeks should be aimed at achieving the new return to work goals.
NB. It is expected that authorised agents would only consider the ongoing provision of vocational counselling for independent job seekers with particular difficulties.
Vocational counselling can also be approved for a worker who has had returned to work during a 26 Week NES, vocational counselling or NES Refresher if the Rehabilitation Consultant can satisfy the authorised agent that the worker’s individual circumstances are exceptional and necessitate the ongoing support and assistance of a NES provider.
