Loss of income compensation
If you have been injured at work and wish to claim WorkSafe entitlements to cover medical treatment and/or loss of income, you must complete a Worker's Injury Claim Form.
Compensation for loss of income is known as weekly payments.
Current work capacity
Weekly payments are influenced by your current capacity to work and whether you can return to suitable employment, even if it's not the exact job you were doing before the injury.
Pre-injury average weekly earnings
Weekly payments are usually based on the average of your ordinary earnings prior to your injury - these are referred to as pre-injury average weekly earnings, or PIAWE.
