As a result of the changes which take effect on 1 July, healthcare providers are being advised to ask their WorkSafe patients if they have been moved to a new Agent so that invoices are sent to the right one and that patient records are up to date.
Around 5,000 injured workers were notified if their claim was being moved by letter in early May.
Claims, now managed by GIO will move to Gallagher Bassett and a small number of CGU claims are transferring to Xchanging.
Gallagher Bassett and Xchanging are sending welcome letters to these workers before 1 July and advising them to let their healthcare providers know they are moving.
The Executive Director of WorkSafe’s Health Services Group, Clare Amies, said WorkSafe and its Agents were closely managing the transition to the new Agent panel to ensure continuity of service and minimal disruption for healthcare providers, workers and employers.
“We have set up mail-forwarding systems so any incorrectly addressed mail, such as invoices, reaches the correct Agent and is paid.
Agents manage WorkSafe Injury Insurance policies and workers’ compensation claims and provide guidance to employers and injured workers, including on how to achieve a safe return to work.
WorkSafe’s competitive tender process to determine the new panel included an opportunity for organisations not currently on WorkSafe’s Agent panel to apply. The tender concluded after a robust evaluation process consistent with Victorian Government guidelines.
WorkSafe’s Agent panel from 1 July 2011 comprises:
- Allianz Australia Workers' Compensation (Victoria) Limited (Allianz)
- Cambridge Integrated Services Victoria Pty Ltd trading as Xchanging (Xchanging)
- CGU Workers Compensation (Vic) Limited (CGU)
- Gallagher Bassett Services Workers Compensation Vic Pty Ltd (GBS)
- QBE Workers Compensation (Vic) Limited (QBE)
