What it contains

Following the sudden loss of a loved one, it is hard to think clearly about many things, particularly financial issues. WorkSafe has made it easier to access certain payments to help family members to deal with the consequences of a loss of income.

  • You might be eligible if you are a dependent of a worker who WorkSafe is sure died of a work-related injury.
  • Provisional payments cover things like counselling, funeral costs and a short-term bereavement pension.
  • Provisional payments don’t affect your formal compensation claim.
