Our Recruitment Process
- Applying for a position with WorkSafe Victoria
Prior to applying for an opportunity, each external candidate will be required to create a People Central Account. This will allow you to provide relevant information such as your Resume and Cover Letter, apply for opportunities and track the progress of your application.
- Our Recruitment & Selection Process
Each application will require the submission of your Resume and Cover Letter (optional) via the WorkSafe Careers website. Our Talent Acquisition Team and Hiring Manager will then assess each application against the selection criteria and requirements of the role.
If shortlisted, a member of our Talent Acquisition Team will then contact you via phone for an initial phone screening call to discuss the opportunity and your motivations for applying.
Depending on the positions, other pre-screening assessments may include:
- Video Interview
- Cognitive and/or Behavioural Testing
- Written Assessment
If progressed passed the initial screening phase, all WorkSafe Victoria opportunities will require a panel interview with a panel of three people. During the panel interview, a series of technical and behavioral questions will be asked, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about the role. Our Talent Acquisition Team will provide you with guidance on how to prepare for the interview.
- Pre-Employments Checks
All external candidates that are entering WorkSafe Victoria will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks:
- National Criminal History Check
- 2 x Professional References
- Eligibility to work
- Identity Check
- Misconduct Screening
Depending on the opportunity you are being considered for, you may also be required to complete:
- Credit (Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing) Checks
- Directorship of Company (Bankruptcy and National Insolvency)
- Pre-Employment Health Assessment
- Qualifications, professional memberships and license checks
