Conditions, limitations and restrictions

WorkSafe Victoria may impose conditions, limitations and restrictions on licences as are prescribed in Regulations made under the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 (DG Act) and the relevant regulations or as WorkSafe deems appropriate to ensure:

  • the safety of persons or property or to ensure 
  • compliance with the DG Act Acts and Regulations.

DG Act: Dangerous Goods Act 1985
DG TRR Regs: Dangerous Goods (Transport by Road or Rail) Regulations 2018
R or r: Regulations or regulation (e.g. a specific regulation number)
S or s: Section or section of the Dangerous Goods Act 1985

Conditions, limitations and restrictions imposed on dangerous goods licences can be identified by a code on the licence card.

SCLR

Specific condition, limitation or restriction

WorkSafe may issue or renew a licence subject to any condition, limitation or restriction that it thinks appropriate to ensure the safety of persons and property or to ensure compliance with the DG Act.

VicRoads listed conditions:

  • B - synchromesh transmission - heavy vehicle only
  • I - ignition interlock device
  • S - glasses or corrective lenses
  • V - driver aids or vehicle modifications
  • X - any condition or restriction VicRoads has advised you of in writing
  • Z - zero blood alcohol limit

MFE06

Medical fitness evidence (required every 6 months)

WorkSafe may impose a condition that the licensee must provide information relating to their ongoing medical fitness to drive a road vehicle: r 206(2)(f) DG TRR Regs.

MFE12

Medical fitness evidence (required every 12 months)

WorkSafe may impose a condition that the licensee must provide information relating to their ongoing medical fitness to drive a road vehicle: r 206(2)(f) DG TRR Regs.

MFE24

Medical fitness evidence (required every 24 months)

WorkSafe may impose a condition that the licensee must provide information relating to their ongoing medical fitness to drive a road vehicle: r 206(2)(f) DG TRR Regs.

GLC

General licence condition

WorkSafe may impose any condition necessary for the safe transport of dangerous goods by road: r 206(3) DG TRR Regs.

DSE06

Driver safety evidence (required every 6 months)

WorkSafe may impose a condition that the licensee provides information relating to their driving record and driving offences at regular intervals as a condition necessary for the safe transport of dangerous goods by road: r 206(3) DG TRR Regs.

DSE12

Driver safety evidence (required every 12 months)

WorkSafe may impose a condition that the licensee provides information relating to their driving record and driving offences at regular intervals as a condition necessary for the safe transport of dangerous goods by road: r 206(3) DG TRR Regs.

DGR

Dangerous goods restriction

WorkSafe may impose a condition on the dangerous goods that may or may not be transported in or on a road vehicle driven by the licensee: r 206(2)(a) DG TRR Regs.

DPR

Dangerous goods packaging restriction

WorkSafe may impose a condition on the packaging that may or may not be used to transport dangerous goods in or on a road vehicle driven by the licensee: r 206(2)(b) DG TRR Regs.
