Emma Barry

Group Leader, Health & Safety, WorkSafe Victoria

Emma (Group Leader, Health, and Safety) has worked for many years as a Safety Leader and WorkSafe Inspector. Through her work at WorkSafe Victoria, she has developed strong expertise in risk management, incident response, regulatory decision-making, and engaging with employers across a range of industries.

Emma has a proven ability to interpret and apply OHS and dangerous goods legislation, while supporting practical and sustainable safety outcomes. Emma works hard every day to contribute to improving safety standards and leading teams that help create safer Victorian workplaces.

Nathan Simandl

Inspector, Health & Safety, WorkSafe Victoria

Nathan is an experienced health, safety, and regulatory professional with a strong background in workplace safety, risk management, and operational leadership. Currently serving as an Inspector with WorkSafe Victoria, he brings extensive experience across regulatory enforcement, investigations, and workplace health and safety advisory roles.

Prior to joining WorkSafe, Nathan held a range of senior Health, Safety and Environment leadership positions within the recreation and telecommunications sectors, where he led safety programs across field operations and recreation facilities. He has also contributed to industry safety initiatives through committee roles with Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Life Saving Victoria.

Nathan holds qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Management, and Recreation, and is passionate about creating safer workplaces and supporting positive safety outcomes.

Caroline Davie

Group Leader, Health & Safety, WorkSafe Victoria

Caroline is the Group Leader of the Integrated Industry Pilot (IIP) Health Division at WorkSafe Victoria. She has spent the past seven years working as a WorkSafe Inspector, supporting workplaces across Victoria to improve health and safety outcomes and prevent workplace harm.

Prior to joining WorkSafe, Caroline built extensive experience across a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, transport, healthcare, and social assistance. This broad industry background has provided her with valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by different workplaces and the practical approaches needed to create safer working environments.

Caroline brings a strong understanding of workplace health and safety, risk management, and workforce development. She holds qualifications across occupational health and safety, human resources, government, and training, providing a well-rounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by Victorian workplaces.

Passionate about protecting workers and preventing harm, Caroline is dedicated to promoting safe, healthy, and fair workplaces for all. She is driven by a strong commitment to keeping Victorians safe and supporting positive health and safety outcomes across the industries and communities she serves.
