Tom Connellan

Tom is a paramedic at Ambulance Victoria. From his experience attending to incidents on farms, Tom is urging Victorian farmers to use the correct safety gear.

Introducing Tom Connellan

Tom grew up on a broadacre, sheep, cattle and grazing farm in regional NSW. Working on other farms during the school holidays and his experience helping his parents shaped Tom’s views on safety.

Like many farmers, Tom's parents and relatives cared about safety but sometimes adopted a 'she'll be right' attitude. Since becoming a paramedic, Tom’s learned this is far from an ideal outlook.

Stationed in North West Victoria, the first thing Tom often hears is ‘I should’ve…’ when a farmer starts thinking about the things they could’ve done to prevent an incident.
