Network guidelines and expectations

The HSRs Healthcare Network connects Victorian HSRs working in healthcare through free online quarterly meetings.

HSR Healthcare Network (The Network) 

 

  1. Purpose 

The Network provides a supportive forum for healthcare HSRs to:

  • learn from peers and exchange experiences 
  • build knowledge, skills, and confidence in their HSR role. 

  

  1. Roles and Responsibilities 

The Network will: 

  • share relevant OHS resources, tools, and support services 
  • promote evidence-based practice and learning 
  • provide relevant content for healthcare HSRs 
  • foster a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. 

 

  1. Scope and Limitations 

The Network will not: 

  • monitor or assess compliance of healthcare services against OHS legislative requirements 
  • discuss active investigations or notices (e.g. PINs) 
  • provide advice on specific incidents or individual matters 
  • record meetings. 

  

  1. WorkSafe Victoria’s Role 

WorkSafe will: 

  • chair structured meetings via MS Teams webinars 
  • encourage participation and discussion 
  • keep de-identified records for evaluation 
  • seek feedback or invite participation in surveys. 

  

  1. Participant Role 

Participation is voluntary via registration. 

Expectations: 

 

  • be respectful, inclusive, and professional 
  • listen actively and value diverse perspectives 
  • share appropriately without exceeding expertise 
  • follow workplace policies.

The Chair may intervene or redirect discussion where behaviours do not align with these expectations. 

 

  1. Technology Use 

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g. bots, transcription, content generation) are not permitted in meetings. 

  

  1. Evaluation and Feedback 

Data is: 

  • collected via surveys/polls to gather feedback and measure engagement 
  • used to improve future sessions and assess effectiveness.
