Maximum amounts for financial support

WorkSafe can provide financial support to dependants, family members and other people impacted by the work-related death of their loved one.

Immediate support, death and dependency payments and damages

Each of the following supports has a maximum amount that can be paid. This is set out in the Victorian workers compensation legislation and depends on the date of death.

If a payment was made as part of the immediate support package, the amount will be subtracted from the maximum amount when the claim is accepted.

If a claim for damages is accepted, the total amount is reduced by any previous payment amounts made.

Weekly pensions

The total weekly amount payable to all dependents is determined by the date of the relevant payment period.
