The WorkWell Toolkit provides a step-by-step approach to help workplace leaders promote positive mental health and prevent mental injury by using tools and information tailored to their individual business.

Launched in July 2018, the Toolkit has now reached the 10,000th user milestone after the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre signed up, joining workplaces of all sizes across 18 industries already taking part.

Once registered, employers can access customised, practical resources such as case studies, policy examples, videos, tip sheets and templates covering the work-related factors that impact mental health.

WorkSafe Executive Director of Health and Safety Julie Nielsen said it was fantastic to see so many employers taking up the challenge of improving the mental health of their workers.

"By creating a positive workplace, employers can increase their employees' motivation, job satisfaction and wellbeing at work," Ms Nielsen said.

"If you're an employer and haven't already signed on to use the Toolkit's evidence based content to develop strategies to build a mentally safer workplace, now is the perfect time to do so."

With around 200 employees supported by a network of more than 1000 volunteers, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is Australia's largest human rights organisation providing support to refugees and people seeking asylum.

Human Resources Director Robyn Stevens said the not-for-profit signed up to ensure it can continue to foster a strong culture of health and wellbeing across a complex team that works with vulnerable people.

"The WorkWell Toolkit will provide real, practical advice that will help us continue to nurture and promote positive mental health across all of our teams," she said.

"In our view, it's something every different type of organisation should adopt as part of their suite of wellbeing resources."

All Victorian workplaces can access their own tailored Toolkit resources based on their business size and needs.
