Physiotherapist charged over alleged $650,000 fraud

A registered WorkSafe service provider has been charged following an investigation into alleged fraudulent billing for services to injured workers.

The 36-year-old physiotherapist faces four charges under section 82(1) of the Crimes Act for dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.

It is alleged that between January 2023 and April 2025 the physiotherapist billed four WorkSafe agents a total of $650,313 for services to injured workers which were not provided.

The matter is listed for a filing hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 1 October 2025.
