Worker crushed by reversing tractor

A man has died after being crushed between a tractor and a hay rake attachment at a farm in Foxhow, near Lismore, on Wednesday.

It is understood the 68-year-old contractor was helping to connect the attachment when the reversing tractor pinned him against the machinery about 12:30pm.

WorkSafe is investigating.

The death is the 49th confirmed workplace fatality and third in the agriculture industry for 2025. There were 48 work-related deaths at the same time last year.
