Paul Barker (Chairman)

Paul was appointed Chairman of WorkSafe Victoria in September 2015.

He is also Chairman of Cricket Victoria and a Trustee for Arts Centre Melbourne.

Paul was formerly Deputy Chairman of WorkSafe Victoria, Chairman of the Transport Accident Commission, the Emergency Service Telecommunications Authority, VicForests, Stadium Operations Limited (Etihad Stadium), the Victorian Division of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Mirvac Funds Management Ltd and a Director of Employment National Limited.

Clare Amies, Chief Executive

BA, BSW, MSW, Grad. Cert. Public Policy, APM (Harvard), MAICD

Clare was appointed as Chief Executive of WorkSafe Victoria in June 2015 and has held several Executive Director roles at WorkSafe, including Executive Director of the Insurance Business Unit and the Health and Disability Strategy Group.

Over the past 15 years, Clare has held senior management positions in health and community service. Prior to joining WorkSafe, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Western Region Health Centre. Clare is a board member of Leadership Victoria.

Jane Brockington

B.Eco, GradDip (Economics)

Jane was appointed a non-executive Director of the WorkSafe Victoria Board in August 2017. Jane is the Principal of Bridging Policy and Practice where her work encompasses regulatory design and practice, governance and integrity and strategy, transformation and capability building.

Jane is also a non-executive Director on the board of TRY Australia and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC); she chairs the Audit and Risk Committees for VicRoads and Victoria Police and is a member of the Victoria Police Corporate Advisory Group and the Melbourne Forum Membership Committee. Previously Jane held leadership roles in the Victorian public sector including CEO of the Victorian Commission for Liquor and Gambling Regulation and the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.

Doug Kearsley

B.Sc(Math)(Hons), GradDip (Operations Research)

Doug was appointed a non-executive director of the WorkSafe Victoria Board in April 2017. Doug has over 30 years’ experience working at a Senior Executive and Board level in the statutory insurance and finance sector including significant roles with the Transport Accident Commission of Victoria (TAC), WorkSafe Victoria, the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) and ESSSuper (current Director).

Ross McCann AM

BEng (Chem) (Hons), FIChemE

Ross was appointed a non-executive Director of the WorkSafe Victoria Board in October 2013 and is currently a Director of the Victorian Asbestos Eradication Agency. Ross was previously a member of the Executive Committee of WMC Resources, CEO and Executive Chairman of Qenos Pty Ltd, President of the Plastics and Chemicals Industry Association, Director of the Australian Stem Cell Centre, International Vice President of IChemE and Deputy Chair of Sustainability Victoria.

Peter McMullin

B.Laws, B.Com

Peter was appointed as a non-executive Director of the WorkSafe Victoria Board in February 2018. He holds the position of Special Counsel at the law firm Cornwall Stodart. His diverse and high profile career includes 25 years' experience running a legal practice. Peter is the immediate past President of the Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) and has held various prominent community and organisational leadership roles. He has high level expertise in commercial and financial management, and is an experienced consultant and mediator across the public and private sectors.

Dr Samantha Smith

DBA, Mam B.Bus(Mktg), GAICD,FGIA

Samantha was appointed a non-executive Director of the WorkSafe Victoria Board in October 2016. She is an experienced communications, stakeholder management and research specialist and, as Director of Melbourne agency Pinnacle, consults to the government, not-for-profit and private sectors. Samantha is a non-executive Director of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and a Member of the Australian Communities Foundation (ACF) Development and Donor Relations Committee. Samantha sits on Swinburne University’s Master of Marketing Course Advisory Committee, assists in judging the Telstra Australian Business Awards and Business Women’s Awards and is a published author on the topics of Gen Y and social media./p>
