Policy and Acts
WorkSafe collects and handles personal and health information according to its Privacy policy and the:
- Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014
- Health Records Act 2001
- Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004
- Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017
- Dangerous Goods Act 1985.
Use of information
We're collecting and using your personal information:
- to process your notification and help you with your asbestos removal work
- to administer and check WorkSafe’s programs generally
- for law enforcement and legal proceedings.
For public health and safety reasons, WorkSafe may give personal and health information to:
- government agencies such as emergency services, law enforcement and security agencies
- its contractors and agents
- a court or tribunal
- other regulatory agencies
- people authorised by law.
WorkSafe may disclose a person’s licence status to:
- employers
- prospective employers
- members of the public who wish to check this status.
If you don't provide everything needed, we may not process or accept your notification.
You have the right to access and correct any personal information held by WorkSafe.
