Dedicated support

WorkSafe's Claims and Recovery Support team (CaRS) provides direct, person centred support and services to Victorian workers recovering from long-term work-related injury. The team supports injured workers who have been on the workers' compensation scheme for more than 130 weeks, and whose employers have stopped operating. Authorised WorkSafe agents, who are separate entities to WorkSafe, will continue to support those injured Victorian workers who do not meet these criteria.

Claims moving to WorkSafe's CaRS team

As part of WorkSafe's commitment to support long-term injured workers achieve the best possible outcomes, there will be an ongoing transition of eligible injured Victorian workers to the CaRS team. Claims will be considered for transfer from their current agent when they meet the transition criteria. Transfers are expected to occur in several cycles each year (e.g. quarterly).

If your claim is transferred to the CaRS team

If you receive confirmation that your claim is being transferred from an authorised WorkSafe Agent directly to WorkSafe's CaRS team, your new case manager will contact you to discuss your circumstances, the next steps in your recovery and how they can help.
