As the implementation of AI and surveillance technology rapidly outpaces legislative efforts to control the rollout, how can Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) be better equipped to protect and advocate for their Designated Work Groups (DWGs)?
This year’s conference hosted by the Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC), REPS AGAINST THE MACHINE, explores the growing use of technology in the workplace under the guise of productivity, safety, and compliance—and what this means for workers’ health, safety, and rights.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
This conference is available to all elected Victorian HSRs and is approved training by WorkSafe under section 69 of the OHS Act 2004.
Note: Under section 69(1)(d)(ii) of the OHS Act, an employer must allow an HSR to attend any course of training relating to OHS that is approved or conducted by WorkSafe in addition to the initial and refresher training, provided that the HSR has given the employer at least 14 days’ notice.
