WorkSafe handles personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), Health Records Act 2001 (Vic), and our Privacy policy.

WorkSafe collects and uses your information, along with supporting documentation, for the following purposes.

  • To process, assess and administer your Independent Medical Examiner application.
  • Verification.
  • To offer renewals and process claim payments.
  • To provide quality assurance, review feedback and manage performance-related issues.
  • To contact you regarding updates or adherence to service standards and/or IME agreements.

WorkSafe may ask third parties such as other government agencies and health authorities for personal information relevant to your Independent Medical Examiner application.

Access to the information collected is limited to WorkSafe employees who have a legitimate interest in the information. Information collected will not otherwise be shared with any third parties, except as required or authorised by law.

If you don't provide any or all of the information, your application may not be accepted, processed or may experience delays due to the need for additional information.

You have the right to access and correct any personal information WorkSafe holds about you.
