VCON Pty Ltd will face three charges of breaching the Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to control the risk of a fall from height.

The 69-year-old painter died in February last year after he fell approximately 3.5 metres though a void on the first level of a hotel complex under construction.

Following a comprehensive investigation, WorkSafe charged VCON with failing to provide a safe system of work, failing to maintain a workplace in safe condition and failing to ensure that a workplace is safe.

The charges were filed in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
