49-year-old man faces serious fraud charges

WorkSafe has charged a Roxburgh Park man with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by allegedly receiving more than $700,000 in unlawful workers compensation payments.

Samer Ahmed, 49, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today and was bailed to reappear on July 27 for a committal mention hearing.

He was ordered to surrender his passport and not approach points of international departure.

Mr Ahmed is alleged to have dishonestly obtained at total of $714,550 between 2006 and 2016.
