Apprentice dies in confined space

A 20-year-old apprentice has died while working inside an open-ended tank at a Cranbourne West business.

It is believed the man was working with power tools when he was overcome with fumes in the confined space, about 10.00am.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident.

The death brings the number of workplace fatalities for the year to 21, compared to 20 at this time last year.
