It is believed the horse trainer was thrown and struck a power pole when the horse bucked.
WorkSafe is investigating.
The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to seven, compared to five at the same time last year.
Horse trainer dies in fall
A 60-year-old man has died after he was thrown from a horse he was breaking in on a roadside at Carlsruhe, near Kyneton this morning.
