Minoan Constructions Pty Ltd faces three charges under section 26(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for failing to ensure a workplace under its management or control was safe and without risks to health.

WorkSafe alleges the company failed to reduce the risk of workers falling from height while accessing, working on or leaving the mezzanine levels of the commercial units under construction.

In February 2022, a 69-year-old man working in one of the units died after falling while descending from the mezzanine level via an unsecured ladder.

The matter is listed for a filing hearing at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 8 March 2024.
