Physiotherapy services fee schedule

Physiotherapy service fees effective from 1 October 2026

WorkSafe will pay up to a maximum amount for the following categories of the service.

Initial consultation

Initial consultation fee includes the time taken to complete an Allied Health Recovery Management Plan for submission to WorkSafe.

^ Initial Consultation is billable once per claim, by the same provider, clinic or clinical group.

Standard consultation

Restricted consultation: prior approval required – refer to the service guidelines for eligibility criteria

Travel: prior approval required – refer to the service guidelines for eligibility criteria

Aquatic physiotherapy consultation: rates are inclusive of travel

^ Initial Consultation is billable once per claim, by the same provider, clinic or clinical group.

Group consultation

The session or class must be a minimum of 30 minutes, with a minimum of 1 and maximum of 6 participants receiving constant overall supervision and intermittent individual attention to each participant from the physiotherapist.

Return to Work (RTW) case conference

If a RTW case conference is required, contact must be made with the agent or occupational rehabilitation consultant to facilitate the case conference. The injured worker, employer, and any member of the treating team can also be involved in the case conference. Administration and any follow up post RTW case conference is included in this fee.
