Before you request a Certificate of Currency
When you request a certificate, you’ll need to provide your WorkSafe Employer Number and business postcode. Certificates are produced for the current financial year.
The Certificate of Currency verifies that you are currently registered for WorkCover insurance.
You can request a certificate as evidence that you or another business has current WorkCover insurance.
Only employers required to register for WorkCover insurance will have a certificate.
When might a certificate be required?
When negotiating a labour hire contract, you might be called on to prove that you are registered for WorkCover insurance. The certificate serves this purpose.
For example, a certificate is a prerequisite when hiring a contractor or getting on a building site.
