What it contains

People directly affected by a work related injury or death of a family member are often asked by the media to tell their stories. This is a private decision to make, but if people feel they would like to do this, WorkSafe can help.

This document includes details on how:

• WorkSafe may issue a media alert outlining the general circumstances of a work related injury or death, before or after court proceedings
• the media is involved in court proceedings
• people injured at work and their families can manage the media’s presence
