What it contains
This document advises employers of their occupational health and safety duties to identify and manage risks at machinery and equipment (plant) hire yards. It provides a checklist to manage health and safety risks for:
- pushing, pulling, heavy lifting, unstable equipment, unsafe work systems or repeated movements (manual handling)
- using plant and equipment hazards, including mobile plant
- using hazardous chemicals, electrical hazards and risks to workers’ hearing
- the work environment, including lighting, heat and slips, trips or falls
- worker certification, training, information and supervision
- site inductions and safe work procedures
- tools, height access equipment and personal protective equipment
