What it contains

The safe worker and traffic (SWAT) campaign is a joint initiative by WorkSafe’s construction program, VicRoads and industry to promote safe traffic management at roadside worksites. This document outlines WorkSafe’s focus on traffic management during inspector visits to construction sites. It explains:

• what traffic hazards and risks inspectors look for when visiting construction sites
• how employers have duties to safely manage traffic and when they should develop a safe work statement method during high risk work
• the role of employees in working safely
