IRU Guidance Principle 04: deciding whether to extend the compliance date on an Improvement Notice

What it contains

This sets out the decision making process used by WorkSafe’s Internal Review Unit (IRU) when deciding whether to extend the date by which compliance on an Improvement Notice must be achieved.

It provides an understanding for people applying for an extension of the compliance date of an Improvement Notice.

This guidance also assists the Internal Review Officer (IRO) when deciding whether to extend the compliance date, and if allowed, the process used by the IRO to determine a new compliance date.

It should be read in conjunction with other IRU Guidance Principles.
