What it contains

WorkSafe uses the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) item numbers, explanations, definitions, rules and conditions for services when reimbursing medical practitioners.

This publication summarises the key principles that WorkSafe will use when approving payments (for example, the 'Complete Medical Service' means that each professional service listed in the MBS is a complete medical service. You cannot also charge for individual components that a reasonable person would expect to be part of that procedure.).
