This document is a case study about an employer working with WorkSafe to create a block container to handle concrete blocks. The container reduced injury risks by minimising the amount of time workers needed to handle blocks. This document can be used by workplaces looking for alternatives to workers lifting heavy blocks. It explains:

  • how workers at a temporary fencing company could be injured when unloading concrete blocks manually from a truck
  • how WorkSafe and the company created a block container with two fixed sides and two removable gates to unload concrete blocks
