WorkSafe's compensation research database access policy

Shape

What it contains

The CRD Access Policy outlines the requirements of CRD access for external researchers and includes the CRD data dictionary of available datasets. This Policy applies to all employees and contractors (collectively referred to as 'employees') of WSV, and eligible research investigators making application to access data contained in the CRD.

This Policy has been developed in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation Compensation Act 2013(Vic), the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). The principles in this Policy are designed to complement the application of WSV's External Data Sharing Policy.

Applying for external research data access

To apply to access to the CRD, external research investigators should first review the CRD Access Policy document which will help to determine if the CRD is appropriate for the research. At this point, only data included in the CRD data dictionary (found within the CRD Access Policy document) can be provided.

If, after reviewing the document, the Lead Investigator finds the database is applicable, they can then contact the WSV Research Division ([email protected]), to be provided with the relevant documentation and information to begin the external data aces request process.
