The Return to work (RTW) coordinator training provides you with practical tools to manage injury recovery from the moment an injury occurs through to a safe and sustainable return to work.
The free, online modules will help you understand your responsibilities, navigate return to work processes and apply strategies that support workers and workplaces. Complete all modules to receive a certificate of completion.

No, the RTW coordinator online training are an optional learning resource designed to help build knowledge and skills in the role. It is not a mandatory training requirement.
- Does completing this digital training meet future mandatory training requirements?
No, future mandatory minimum training requirements for RTW coordinators are still being developed and have not yet commenced. WorkSafe will seek external stakeholder feedback on these requirements before the training is created.
- Will I need to complete additional training in the future?
Future mandatory minimum training requirements for RTW coordinators will be set out in a Ministerial Order. WorkSafe will communicate these requirements and provide information to help employers and coordinators understand their obligations.
- When will the new mandatory training requirements commence?
The mandatory minimum training requirements are expected to commence on 1 July 2027, unless proclaimed earlier. A transition period is anticipated to allow employers time to prepare for any new requirements.

The online training has been developed to support RTW Coordinators now by providing access to practical learning and professional development. It is available as an additional resource to help coordinators build knowledge and capability in their role.
