Keep talking

Recovery and return to work can take time. What matters is staying committed and continuing to work together.

Stay connected throughout recovery

Returning to work isn't something an injured worker does alone. Open, ongoing communication helps build trust, create psychological safety and support positive recovery outcomes. Staying connected helps workers, employers, health practitioners and support people work together towards recovery and return to work.

What does ‘keep talking’ look like?

A quick phone call. A regular check-in. Sharing updates. Simply asking how someone is going. Small conversations help people stay connected, informed and supported throughout recovery.

Why keeping the conversation going matters:

  • helps people feel supported and less isolated
  • builds trust and shared understanding
  • creates psychological safety
  • helps everyone stay informed and connected
  • encourages people to raise concerns early
  • supports positive recovery and sustainable return to work outcomes
  • small conversations and actions can make a real difference.
