About the restrictions

These restrictions mean that many businesses will have to operate in a limited capacity or can no longer operate.

About the fund

To support businesses impacted by these restrictions, one-off grants will be made available to eligible businesses under the Business Support Fund – Expansion program:

  • $10,000 for employing businesses in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire in recognition of spending longer under restrictions
    • $5,000 for employing businesses in regional local government areas (except Mitchell Shire)

Businesses which have already received a Business Support Fund - Expansion grant, or have applied for one, will not need to re-apply. Successful applicants will automatically receive this additional allocation.

Applications for the program will be extended until 14 September 2020.

When applying for the grant, if you are unsure of your WorkCover Employer Number (WEN), please refer to the top right hand corner of your WorkCover Insurance premium notice or certificate of currency. It will be listed as the 'Employer Number' and is under the 'Date of Issue'. If you are unable to find the WEN, please contact your WorkSafe Agent.

      Delay in registration processing

WorkCover Insurance is mandatory for most business's employing workers in Victoria and we appreciate that a WorkCover Employer Number (WEN) is a requirement for the Business Support Fund made available by the Victorian Government.

We have received a large increase in applications for WorkCover Insurance and therefore there will be delays in finalising your application. Thank you for your patience.
