About WorkWell
WorkSafe’s WorkWell program aims to influence positive change in psychological health and safety within Victorian workplaces. We do this by investing in partnerships, networks, tools and resources for sustainable system level change, making workplaces safer for all Victorians.
About the Communities of Practice
Inspired by previous WorkWell Learning Networks, the Communities of Practice takes a collaborative partnership approach to help workplace leaders to take action to create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces.
Communities of Practice starting in August 2025
The Victorian Government is investing $1.6 million in two new Communities of Practice in Victoria’s residential aged care and disability service sectors.
Led by the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association and the National Disability Services, the Communities of Practice will support workplace leaders to collaborate with peers, discuss challenges and identify practical solutions to prevent mental injury in their industry.
Accessible and practical tools and resources will be created to improve the psychosocial safety climate within Victoria’s residential aged care and disability service workplaces.
Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association
Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association will lead consortium partners to co-design an approach that focuses on the practical application of psychosocial safety climate.
The Community of Practice will engage workplace leaders from across Victorian residential aged care homes including public, private and not-for profit facilities.
Leaders will participate in peer-to-peer workshops and tailored coaching sessions to build their capacity and help them embed psychosocial safety climate learnings into their workplaces.
Project tools and outcomes will be promoted across industry to influence policies and standards, driving broad reaching and sustainable change in the sector.
National Disability Services
National Disability Services will use a co-design process to develop a shared understanding of workplace psychological health challenges within the disability sector.
Fifteen large providers will become sector champions, improving psychosocial safety climate within their own organisations and then providing support to others across the industry.
The Communities of Practice will deliver multi-layered engagement including seminars and facilitated sessions to support peer to peer experiential learning and connections.
National Disability Services will develop, test and refine actionable tools and resources that build the capability of workplace leaders to improve psychosocial safety climate in their workplace. A webpage and social media engagement will further increase sector capability by sharing resources, evidence and good practice.
