Funded by the Victorian State Government and delivered by WorkSafe Victoria, the WorkWell Respect Fund will support large-scale projects that design and deliver evidence-based initiatives to prevent work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment.

About the WorkWell Respect Fund

The Respect Fund will provide funding to successful recipients to develop innovative projects and initiatives to prevent work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment.

The WorkWell Respect Fund will:

  • support projects that treat work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment as an occupational health and safety issue
  • create system and industry-wide change to prevent work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces
  • trial innovative solutions that create workplace cultures of respect
  • tailor solutions to ensure the unique characteristics and challenges facing workers from different industries are addressed
  • increase workplace knowledge and understanding of work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment, so that duty holders are aware of their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004)
  • share project learnings and provide practical ideas and resources to support employers and workplace leaders reduce the risk of work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment in Victorian workplaces

The WorkWell Respect Fund projects

The successful projects are:

  • Being valued – Your Community Health is partnering with Transgender Victoria to develop evidence-based resources to build the capacity of workplaces including leaders to create safe, inclusive and gender affirming workplace cultures for the LGBTIQA+ community.
  • Breaking the silence – Health and Community Services Union will engage with employers, workers and industry bodies in mental health and disability services to create a best practice employer and worker prevention framework.
  • Our Equal Local Government - Gippsland Women's Health will partner with an existing regional Consortium to prevent and respond to work-related gendered violence across 6 Local Councils in the Gippsland area.
  • Training for Respect – Women's Health in the South East will establish preventative programs and activities to influence systems and address the drivers of work-related gendered violence and sexual harassment in Victorian Registered Training Organisations and Public TAFE's across Victoria.
  • Respect and equality in the legal sector - Women's Legal Service Victoria is taking an industry approach to addressing the high prevalence of work-related gendered violence including sexual harassment in the legal sector. This will include analysing the barriers and enablers to effective reporting for workplace sexual harassment.
