Australian agricultural workplace fatalities (PDF)

What it contains

The AgHealth Australia infographics use separate data sources. There’s a difference in the number of fatalities reported for Victoria in each report. This is due to what’s considered a workplace death under the WorkSafe Victoria scheme, compared with all deaths on farms (i.e. work and non-work).

The Australian fatality data was sourced from AgHealth Australia’s farm fatalities dataset, which is derived from the National Coronial Information System (NCIS). The NCIS is the database source of the data and the Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety is the organisation source of the data.
