Information for persons intending to operate a major hazard facility

What it contains

This guidance note provides information for persons intending to operate a new facility, or to modify or expand an existing dangerous goods facility to the scale of a major hazard facility (MHF). It will assist these new operators through the early stages of becoming a MHF, and includes:

• features of successful Safety Case development
• the specific requirements for intending operators with respect to notification, registration, Safety Case development and licensing, and
• a compliance checklist
